About this tour

Day 1: Rangoon

We have a half-day visit of downtown Rangoon, with Yangon Heritage Trust association, talking about colonial architecture.

This association works to preserve the historical and cultural heritage of the city center. Listening to stories about the past and the challenges to come, we stroll in the heart of downtown Rangoon, near the Sule Pagoda, the former British post office or the Strand Hotel, a former pearl of the British empire.

We walk in the aisles of Bogyoke market before having lunch at a popular downtown restaurant.

In the afternoon, we take time to relax in the park around Kandawgyi Lake and at the end of the day, we climb to the Shwedagon Pagoda, the huge stupa, symbol of the city, venerated by a whole nation and beyond the country's borders.

Diner in the lively streets of Yangon Chinatown.
