Day 1: Vientiane

Small guided tour to discover the main monuments of the Lao capital city.

Presentation of Lao Farmer Company which processes and exports products from the rural areas.

Tour in a popular market of the capital in company of family housewife. We prepare some specialties at her home and enjoy diner.

Day 2: Vientiane / Nam Ngum Lake

Road to Nam Ngum Lake. Swim in pristine waters and taste fish one of the many islands of the lake.

Night with families of a Hmong refugee village. We meet and discuss with our hosts about Hmong culture.

Day 3: Lake Nam Ngum / Vang Vieng

Road to enjoy the beautiful sceneries around Vang Vieng. Visit cave, taste products of the organic farm.

We take lunch with volunteers of Sae Lao project that helps youth of villages around Vang Vieng.

Day 4: Vang Vieng / Luang Prabang

Drive to Luang Prabang through the beautiful landscape of northern Laos mountains.

In Kassi town, we will meet a group of people offering a microcredit system.

Day 5: Luang Prabang

Guided tour of the city to visit the most beautiful pagodas in this religious city.

Taste specialties of a family of northern Laos for diner.

Day 6: Luang Prabang / Nong Khiaw

Road to Nong Kiaw and walk through limestone mountains sceneries.

Discover the herbal sauna with medicinal plants, picked by our host and overnight on the banks of the Nam Ou River.

Day 7: Nong Khiaw

A day hiking to discover the region of Nong Kiaw and enjoy the scenery around the Nam Ou River.

Night in our bungalows on the banks of the Nam Ou River.

Day 8: Nong Khiaw / Muang Khua

Ride the boat up the Nam Ou River to the small town of Muang Khua.

Stop in isolated villages along the river.

Day 9: Muang La or Muang Khua District

2 days hike through beautiful rice fields or on slopes of the mountains.

Overnight at K'mou or Iko ethnic group village, welcomed by the inhabitants.

Day 10: Muang La or Muang Khua District

Morning time with the villagers to discover how they live and work.

Pursuit of the hike back to the main town and night in a hotel.

Day 11: Muang La or Muang Khua District / Namet village

Visit a high school that teaches students from the mountains. An opportunity to talk with students and the teachers.

Discover of a very specific handcraft, with artisans trained by a Japanese development project.

Drive to Namet village, where the villagers will welcome us. Encounter with the Lu ethnic minority.

Day 12: Namet village / Mekong River

Discover cotton spinning, dyeing and weaving techniques. Understand its role in the life of the inhabitants.

Road to the Mekong River and installation on board a boat of river tradesmen. Overnight on the boat.

Day 13: Mekong banks / Luang Prabang

A day with Mekong River tradesmen. Lunch onboard.

Visit Pak Ou caves, rooted in the legends of Laos.

Day 14: Luang Prabang / Tha Pene and the Kuang Si Falls

Walk in the surrounding mountains with the villagers of Tha Pene village, looking for food in nearby forests. Preparation and tasting of dishes gathered in the forest.

Visit the Kuang Si waterfalls and swim.
