A short description
Hti Tha Kawk village has the project to build a pre school. It is a village of 115 families or 750 persons. All the inhabitants are of the Pa -O ethnic group of Myanmar. The village is located in the mountains east of Inle Lake. There are, this year, 85 children aged from 4 to 5 years.
Project description
The village of Hti Tha Kawk had the project to build a kindergarten. The first phase of the project cost about $ 2,700, which was enough to build a building by the standards of the Ministry of Education of Myanmar, with wooden structures, a tin roof, walls and floors of plaited bamboos, and the first necessary equipment.
The villagers gave their labor to help a skilled carpenter. They also took care of the stone foundation, hardwood poles and braided bamboo for flooring and walls.
The village sometimes welcomes travelers from the Pa-O community hotel, Golden Island Cottage, hotel on stilts over the Inle Lake. With these welcomings, the community has gained $ 800 and was able to use it in the project.
The French Association for Solidarity and Tourism “Vision du Monde” participated with $ 1,900. It was the entire fund for solidarity actions in Myanmar gathered since the beginning of the year that was used in this project, funds raised only after the first 2 groups, 15 people in total.
