Day 1 : Vientiane / Konglor cave

Departure to the south of Laos, along the Mekong river and Thailand on the other side.

Night near the Konglor cave.

Day 2 : Konglor cave / Phou Hin Poun Biodiversity Conservation Area

Visit the site of Konglor cave. Walk in Phou Hin Poun Biodiversity Conservation Area.

Meet with villagers and overnight in homestay.

Day 3 : Phou Hin Poun Biodiversity Conservation Area / Thakhaek

Drive to the town of Tha Khaek. Visit Tham Pha Fa, the cave of thousands of Buddha.

Relax along the Mekong and night in Thakhek.

Day 4 : Thakhek / Savannakhet / Bolaven Plateau

We continue to the south. Visit the famous site of That Hin Hang Stupa.

Walk in Savannakhet, a sleepy colonial town, on the banks of the Mekong river. Night in the Bolaven plateau.

Day 5 : Bolaven Plateau / Done Daeng Island

Morning through tea and coffee plantations, meeting with farmers of Lao Farmer cooperatives.

Night on Done Daeng Island, on the Mekong river banks, opposite of Champassack, in the communal guest house.

Day 6 : Done Daeng Island / Wat Phou temple

Stroll around Champassack to the site of the pre-Angkorian temple Wat Phou.

Relax in the town of Champassack and on Done Daeng Island, along the Mekong River.

Day 7 : Done Daeng Island / Khone Pha Pheng Falls / 4000 islands region

Road to mahouts village of Kiet Ngong and ride on the back of elephant, through a protected forest, to an old Khmer citadel.

Drive to the 4000 Islands region and visit the famous Khone Pha Pheng Falls.

Night in a charming countryside resort on Done Khone island, to enjoy the nature.

Day 8: 4000 Islands Region

A relaxing day on the islands, discovering by walk and by bike. Visit of Liphi Falls.

Ride on dug-out at sunset, to enjoy the beauty of the place.

Day 9: 4000 Islands Region / Pakse

Back on the mainland and drive to Pakse. Stroll in the old colonial part of the city.

Free time in the market, one of the largest in southern Laos.
